Vessels on hydrogen

The project

RH2INE is about kick-starting and ultimately establishing a zero-emission Rhine-Alpine corridor by introducing inland waterway transport (IWT) propelled by hydrogen technology.

Scope and Dimensions

The RH2INE consortium aims to have 12 ships sailing and 4 hydrogen refilling stations built by 2027. Total investments are estimated around €250 million. The overall program and ambition of RH2INE go well beyond kickstarting IWT.
